This is me!

I am Rachel Elizabeth Mostofizadeh and I currently live in Arizona with my pilot husband and two children. Rachel Elizabeth Photography has been operating since 2010. We have 2 dogs named Marvel and Toast and a cat named Nike as well as a revolving door of fish and frogs. If I am not working, or driving a kid somewhere, or lost in a book, or out hiking/biking/paddling somewhere, I can usually be found at the rink - we are a hockey family.  We move a lot (but maybe not anymore?). I grew up in New Hampshire with my 3 awesome siblings. My childhood was adventurous and muddy and crazy and loud. I have since lived in Seattle, Chicago, campgrounds across the US and a Toyota Camry, Tucson (twice), LA, Florida (twice), Ixtapa Mexico, Boston, Las Vegas (twice), New Hampshire again, and now Phoenix. With this, I am able to service areas all over the US and frequently do make week-long trips. Feel free to email me to see when and if I will be in your area. I fell in love with photography when I was a teenager. I got my first Pentax K1000 when I was 16 and took my first photo class that same year. At the time I was obsessed with the band REM and I was really taken with the work of Anton Corbijn, a photographer that worked with them often. My art and my photography have since largely been inspired by him and by the work of Andrew Wyeth, the painter. My life has always been about color; lots and lots of bright, glorious color (but I do love a good black and white photo). I am constantly growing as a photographer and can often be found at my computer late at night taking online classes, reading tutorials, and watching how-to videos.

This video does not have words, just some relaxing music.

Having family photos taken by Rachel was a fantastic experience. The entire session was enjoyable and we all felt relaxed and comfortable. The photos are beautiful and it was a good mix of formal and playful poses.
Rachel is an incredible photographer. She captures our family in such a fun and natural way by allowing us to have fun and be candid. She is so kind, easy going, and creative with how to capture everyone in the right light and setting. She also knows how to do photoshoots with young kids. Our toddler just runs around and somehow she captures amazing portrait shots of him that we will cherish forever.
Rachel was great. She is a very sweet person, she is very reasonable and work with you. I love that about her. My son was very comfortable during the shoot. He talked and laughed. He doesn’t always do that on his first encounter with someone.

Rachel was wonderful! She was patient with us and so kind. We booked an engagement session and had never had professional photos so we’re unsure how to pose. Rachel made sure we always looked great and got the best pictures. It wasn’t awkward and felt so natural! The pictures came out absolutely perfect! She really paid attention to what was important to us and never made us feel rushed! Everything was amazing! Highly recommend!!
Thank you again for a wonderful photo session! Wanted to let you know that when we got in the car my daughter said, 'mom she really was nice', and my son said, 'yeah and she actually got to know us and asked questions about us. She wasn't just like - stand there and smile'. This was unsolicited feedback. When we got home I always want William to have a chance to share too and he spelled, 'her eagle eye made it best of me. She got my smile. It's not easy. Her energy was calm and she had kindness that's good for what God gave me". So, in a nutshell we are fans of you!
No words. Not only did Rachel nail it, I feel like she was part of the party! She blended right in, we totally forgot she was even there for photos! And then we got our gallery...speechless. Breathtaking. I am in awe and forever grateful.
